Your role

As a fire inspector, you work to prevent fires and other accidents and to ensure that we minimize damage if a fire or an accident should occur. We primarily work with:

  • Supervision to ensure compliance with the Fire Protection Act.
  • Supervision and permit assessment in accordance with the Explosive Substances Act.
  • Advising and supporting the public, municipalities, and other actors and organizations to strengthen fire protection.
  • Responding to referrals from various community actors on issues related to accidents, fire, and safety.
  • Investigating accidents to utilize experiences in preventive work and to disseminate knowledge from actual accidents.

Who are you?

As a person, you have high ambitions and self-motivation, you take independent responsibility for your tasks and plan and organize your work efficiently. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and navigate comfortably in the Microsoft Office suite. Requirements

For the position of fire inspector, the following is required:

  • Education in Accident Prevention (MCF, formerly MSB). Alternatively, other education or experience that SSBF assesses as equivalent.
  • Knowledge of building fire protection and fire and accident prevention work in the private or public sector.
  • Driver's license with B category.

Meritorious

For the position of fire inspector, it is meritorious to have a degree as a fire engineer, Supervision A, Supervision B, and/or experience in supervisory work within other government areas.

Conditions

  • The positions are permanent full-time employment, with start date according to agreement.

Who are we?

The Greater Stockholm Fire Department is a municipal federation where 11 municipalities collaborate: Danderyd, Lidingö, Nacka, Solna, Stockholm, Sundbyberg, Täby, Vallentuna, Vaxholm, Värmdö, and Österåker. The federation's management and support functions are located at Johannes Fire Station in central Stockholm.

The Greater Stockholm Fire Department is responsible for the safety of 1.5 million people. Through cooperation agreements, we are responsible for alarms and management of rescue operations in a total of 32 municipalities in Uppland, Västmanland, parts of Södermanland, and Gotland.

With unique expertise, long experience, and care, we carry out preventive work within potential risk categories, as well as sharp interventions in acute situations – to create a safer society.
